Hardly few years back all the class rooms were filled with Black Boards. Even some class rooms were plastered with cement, painted with black colour, and then a dusty white chalk rolling in the fingers of our teacher.
Today the Black Board is replaced by the white shining board and teacher is holding a black marker pen.
This is the picture of the evolution of our education in brief. Though today Net Generation living on online, but in class you will surprise to see a teacher amongst students themselves. Students learn from their own friend who is also a learner.
There is a class occasionally takes place of the learners learning from a learner. You find such a unique class in Yelehanka New Town’s JD Institute fashion technology [CES], Where senior student teach ,demonstrate and discuss with their classmates. They learn Fashion design, Interior Decoration, Fashion Photography.
Even while they teach they learn more. Students feel that they are comfortable to learn from another learner.
Abhishek who is in the final year of Fashion Design says that it is a different experience to teach your own classmates, it is not teaching alone but sharing your studies. This we cannot do with our teacher.
Swati a student from north India feel comfortable to learn and share her studies with local classmates. She says we even discuss the topics when we have a tea break.
But Javed,Vandana, and Bindu who are also senior students says some time during their discussion a idea is born due to our different experience of particular subject.
Learning wherever whenever these learners are together they learn more, that again crate a desiring in them to extend their studies to other students. To teach is to learn twice. Learn from the learner and teach the other learner to learn twice
